NUAL® Brand NMD90 cable provides excellent resistance to thermal deformation when the cable is required to operate at high temperatures. With its cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, NUAL Brand NMD90 provides significantly improved cable performance when subjected to repeated overloads compared to PVC insulated constructions. NUAL Brand NMD90 cable is a non-metallic sheathed cable designed for use in residential branch circuit wiring in dry locations. NMD90 XLPE cables are recommended for contemporary homes where higher levels of thermal insulation occur and electrical space heaters are typically installed. NUAL Brand NMD90 cable is an assembly of two NUAL aluminum alloy conductors with R90 cross-linked polyethylene insulation and a bare bonding conductor covered with a PVC jacket. NMD90 cable is available in sizes 8 to 2 AWG. NUAL Brand NMD90 cables meet or exceed the requirements of CSA 22.2 No. 48, and are approved for use in accordance with the recommendations of the Canadian Electrical Code. NUAL Brand compact aluminum alloy conductors carry twice the current per kilogram as equivalent copper conductors. NUAL Brand conductors terminate safely with industry standard dual-rated aluminum lugs. The cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation on the NUAL Brand conductors is rated for operating temperatures of -40ºC to +90 ºC and offers a higher maximum short-circuit temperature rating than thermoplastic insulation. It is sunlight and moisture resistant. NUAL Brand conductors are light weight for easier lifting and handling with 25% more flexibility and 0% less spring back than copper conductors of equal ampacity. Heavy metals free insulation is RoHS compliant and environmentally sustainable while providing excellent long-term performance.
